Maximilian Büsser broke the chains and standards to initiate a rebellion called MB&F (Maximilan Büsser & Friends) with independent watchmakers: they are the friends. MB&F turns traditional watchmaking into creative timekeeping Machines.

At MB&F we love to create Machines. MB&F’s Horological and Legacy Machines came first, reinterpreting fine watchmaking into kinetic, 3-dimensional sculptures for the wrist. Co-Creations came next: collaborations with partners, giving birth to table clocks, music boxes and other forms of mechanical art.

Born out of Maximilian Büsser’s vision to deconstruct traditional watchmaking into 3-dimensional kinetic art, MB&F is dedicated to designing and crafting small series of radical concept watches by bringing together talented horological professionals who share the same values.

In June 2021, MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser presented a timepiece called the M.A.D.1: not an MB&F Machine but a more accessible timepiece developed under a different brand, M.A.D.Editions, linking it to the mechanical art universe that has been created with the M.A.D.Galleries.

The first editions of the LM Split Escapement were presented in MB&F’s classic Legacy Machine case – but the collection now also features the EVO case, conceived for a more active lifestyle.

Maximilian Büsser and the MB&F team launched the fifth edition in the M.A.D.Editions story at the 2024 Geneva Watch Days, continuing to craft more accessible timepieces that nod to the thrill of the mechanical art universe: introducing the M.A.D.1S.

Despite its striking external appearance, MB&F founder Maximilian Büsser described the engine inside HM9 as “the most beautiful movement we’ve created to date”.
