The Red Line (Russian: Красная Линия) is a one-party socialist political union in the post-apocalyptic Moscow, based around the Sokolnicheskaya Line on the Metro, that serves as the artery of the Red Line, on which most of its stations are located and to which all connect.

From what it looks like (and what i found by doing som searching), it's a Soviet Victory Day flag. They're probably common to find in russian villages, so they most likely just took and decided to use it. My best guess is that the merchants are using it was a way of identification with other ships. Enslaved by the enemy of course! o7!
