Mar 20, 2020 · Even if it were to get 80°C, this will not melt the kind of plastic keycaps are made out of. You can also clearly see where the keys have lifted up from the keyboard, this is due to the hot air from the hairdryer/heatgun getting under the keys.

I took it into a certified Apple reseller in Istanbul, Turkey and they replaced the screen, but they didn't replace the keyboard as they said they didn't have the part.

There is zero evidence they were ever there. They literally peal up, and any residue you can clean up just by tapping the sticker on the same point till all stickiness is gone. Why the hell would you use a blow dryer? Thank you for your service OP. Softens the blow from melted keyboard at least.
