Jun 20, 2016 · For anyone that hasn't heard of it, GacoRoof is - by far - the best roof sealer. Developed in Seattle, it's 100% silicon! This comes highly recommended by many RV'ers. I used it on the roof seams of my 33 yr old Winnebago and it works great! Be warned - it's NOT cheap - can run between $60-80 for a gallon can but worth every penny.....

Aug 26, 2015 · Because the bond has broken with the OEM sealant over the cab,there is water intrusion over the windshield and door. Do any of you know what type of sealant was used originally to close the joint between bulbous fiberglass shell and the Ford E350 body. Gotta say, where the sealant is still attached, it is very difficult to get it to release.

Replacing roof vents - Good Old RVs
Hi Jack. Dicor self leveling is the best. Clean off that silicone stuff very well. Then use a quality butyl tape on the vents to begin with then slather on the dicor. As it levels out you may need to add more to get a good coverage. Don't use eternabond. It is perfect for seams but not for something that may need to be removed in the future.

The issue is that the mounting pads for the luggage rack aren't secured to the roof as well as they once were. This causes the pad to move around, but also when you step on the roof the aluminum sheathing separates from the mounting pad causing a gap.

Feb 1, 2015 · On the seams where it was dried out I scraped the same amount out of the seam, cleaned all of the seams with acetone and resealed with a poly based sealant which the name escapes me at this point but if David Craft recommends 5200 slow cure caulk you can take it to the bank it's good stuff. JUST DON"T USE SILICONE.
