Pat McAfee broke his silence on the Mary Kate Cornett situation on Tuesday at his "Big Night Aht," a week after he was accused of recklessly amplifying false rumors about the Ole Miss freshman's personal life.

Cornett is a college student who was the subject of an unsubstantiated internet rumor previously amplified by McAfee and others.

During an interview with Tom Llamas of NBC News on Thursday, Portnoy apologized to Mary Kate Cornett for Barstool Sports employees posting about the untrue viral rumor that the Ole Miss student had been sleeping with her boyfriend’s father.
