Following a transatlantic journey from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Eemshaven, Netherlands, Disney Cruise Line’s new ship the Disney Treasure arrived in its homeport of Port Canaveral for the first time on Nov.

A Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Treasure, rescued four people from a catamaran that was taking on water some 265 miles from Bermuda Sunday, according to the Coast Guard.

The Treasure will begin regular seven-day sailings from Port Canaveral on Dec. 21. with seven-day voyages to eastern and western Caribbean

Over the last two weeks, Disney Cruise Line’s new ship, the Disney Treasure has been on a transatlantic journey to its homeport of Port Canaveral following the completion of its construction by Meyer Werft in Eemshaven, Netherlands. During the crossing, the ship’s crew made final preparations to ready the ship for its maiden voyage on Dec. 21.
