Ray Mendoza, who co-wrote and co-directed A24’s new movie ‘Warfare’ with Alex Garland, recreated a real-life 2006 Iraq War mission gone wrong for fellow soldier Elliott Miller, who suffered a lost leg and traumatic brain injury during the harrowing incident.

Warfare is the latest film from A24, and its origins stem from 2024’s Civil War. I was lucky enough to get invited to a press screening for the movie that was attended by co-writers and co-directors Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza.
