DirecTV has stitched together a skinny bundle of sports channels, targeted at people who want to watch live sports without paying for a broad TV package. Launching Tuesday, DirecTV MySports initially includes 40 sports and broadcast channels and is available in 24 metro areas,

At launch, the platform will cost $50 per month for the first three months. After that, all subscribers will transition to the regular price of $70 per month.

The package fulfills a promise to offer more-flexible programming options for those who want sports-inclusive channels.
