The S25 Ultra no longer offers the absolute best in mobile hardware, but its software experience, especially AI features, are the best of the bunch.

It was only last week that I wrote about the lowest price I’ve ever seen for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, my favourite phone of 2024, but it seems I spent my best shot early. Now that the Samsung Galaxy S25 range is available in Australia, I’m happy to report that last year’s Ultra model is now (once again!) cheaper than ever.

This clever intelligence means the Galaxy S25 can now give users a customised daily briefing (called Now Brief), automatically retouch photos like a pro, and even chat back to owners like a real person via full integration with Google’s clever Gemini assistant.

The S25 Ultra also sees the Drawing Assist feature getting a big upgrade. Users can now generate AI images using text prompts and customise the images to different art styles. Admittedly, it isn’t exactly a make-or-break feature but it is definitely one of the phone’s most fun tools.
