A First Alert Weather Day is in effect for wind gusts that will climb upwards of 40 MPH with our next round of rain.

The 19 First Alert Weather team has declared a 19 First Alert Weather Day on Monday and will continue to update on the latest forecast. Cold air remains locked in for the rest of the upcoming week with high temperatures in the 20s and low temperatures eventually falling to the teens.

First Alert Weather days are in effect through Friday as wind chills dip into the teens, with the potential for wintry weather later this week.

Sunday is a First Alert Weather Day as the potential for a few strong to severe storms remains possible in our area. Wind and rain will be the primary concerns, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Severe storms are expected anywhere between 11am-11pm with the bulk of the system moving through between 2pm-7pm.

The threats are Strong winds up to 60-70 mph, large hail up to golf ball size, and Tornados, which will likely be an issue in the afternoon.

For all of us, the frontal passage should occur from mid-morning to midday Sunday, bringing gusty winds and rapidly dropping temperatures.

We expect a winter storm to cause significant travel impacts and potential power outages Sunday night into Monday night. Please prepare for bad travel conditions plus potential power outages that could linger into midweek.
