President Trump called Elon Musk a "patriot" and that reporters could call him "whatever you want" after being questioned about Musk's official role in DOGE in a legal filing from the White House.

The White House says billionaire Elon Musk is not technically part of the Department of Government Efficiency team that is sweeping through federal agencies, but is rather a senior adviser to President Donald Trump.
