Crowds of protesters gathered nationwide Saturday for ‘No Kings’ protests, opposing President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies. The demonstrations coincided with the Army’s 250th anniversary parade,

Protesters in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties chant and stand in solidarity for the rally tied to hundreds more happening in cities across the nation.

From Silver Spring and Bethesda and Gaithersburg in Maryland, to Fairfax and Falls Church and Arlington in Virginia, people throughout the region came out for “ No Kings Day of Defiiance ” protests. (There was not a “No Kings” protest in DC itself, but there was a march from Logan Circle to the White House organized by Refuse Fascism .)

Coinciding with Flag Day, the anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official U.S. flag, and the Army’s 250th anniversary, organizers say the protest is in response to President Donald Trump’s military parade , cuts to Veterans Affairs resources and other cuts to social services and federal departments.

In the Cape Fear region, No Kings protest locations included downtown Wilmington, Leland, Shallotte and Surf City.

TAMPA - Between 2,000 and 3,000 people were in Downtown Tampa to join in the nationwide "No Kings Day" protests. Organizers of the protests say it's a day of defiance as they plan to take action against authoritarianism.
