Marcus Morris, a 6-foot-8, 218-pound, 35-year-old Philadelphia native, who played at KU from 2008 to 2011, has agreed to a one-year Exhibit 9 deal with the New York Knicks, the team announced Sunday. Markieff Morris, also a Jayhawk forward from 2008 to 2011, recently signed a one-year agreement with the Dallas Mavericks.

The 35-year-old Marcus signed an Exhibit 9 contract with Tom Thibodeau’s side, granting him the chance to play for the New York Knicks.

Morris was acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers in the James Harden deal in October and played 37 games for his hometown Sixers and averaged 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 40% from deep. He started seven of those 37 games before he was sent to the San Antonio Spurs in a 3-team deadline deal for Philadelphia to acquire Buddy Hield.
