Four candidates are bidding to be Germany’s next leader in Sunday’s election. The would-be chancellors are the incumbent, the opposition leader, the current vice chancellor and — for the first time — a leader of a far-right party.

Plans are underway to almost triple the capacity of London’s St Pancras station, which will bring new train services to European destinations.

Possible new routes include direct trains from London to Bordeaux, Cologne, Frankfurt, Geneva, Marseille, and Zurich.
