Los Angeles County said Wednesday that it's suing Southern California Edison, alleging the utility’s equipment sparked January’s Eaton Fire, which destroyed more than 9,400 structures and killed 17 people in the Altadena area.

A new wildfire was reported today at 6:01 p.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. Currently, there is no information on the containment of the fire and the cause of it is still undetermined.

The lawsuit blames SCE’s equipment for triggering the deadly blaze that cut a mammoth swath of damage through the unincorporated community of Altadena.
