Legion introduces the story of David Haller: Since he was a teenager, David has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years.

In a panel that included a screening of the first half of the Legion pilot, Hawley also revealed on Sunday via Twitter from the stage that Jemaine Clement will be joining the first season of the show.
