Lakers star LeBron James doesn't know when he'll retire, but says he hopes to still be on the Lakers when he decides to finally call it quits.

James made his NBA debut as an 18-year-old rookie with the Cavaliers on Oct. 29, 2003, pouring in 25 points in a loss to the Sacramento Kings. Now, at 40 years old, James—and his former team—will once again be the answer to a sports trivia question for years to come should he take the court Tuesday night.

LeBron James is fulfilling his end of the bargain by playing elite basketball at age 40, something unprecedented. Will the Lakers now fulfill theirs?

The Los Angeles Lakers will look to start the new year on the right foot as they host the top team in the league and certainly in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavaliers have the best record in the league at 28-4.
