A partial solar eclipse will be visible around sunrise Saturday in parts of the northeastern United States, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania — clouds permitting. Steps must be taken for safe viewing of the phenomenon occurring when the moon blocks out part of the sun.

A partial solar eclipse will be visible Saturday morning in the Northern Hemisphere, including in Europe, eastern North America, northern Asia, and western Africa. Some locations will be able to see what’s called a “double sunrise,” because “the silhouette of the moon makes the rising sun look like two separate ‘horns’ emerging from the horizon."
