Skywatchers can enjoy a celestial alignment of the crescent moon, Venus, and Saturn on April 25, with Mercury visible near the horizon.

Before sunrise on April 25, a slender waning crescent moon will appear left of Venus and Saturn to create the tilted happy face.

The new moon occurs April 27, and a day later Venus and Saturn will make a close approach to each other (known as a conjunction) in the predawn sky. To make a new moon, you need to line up the sun, moon and Earth.
