Meet the Muscovy Duck
Muscovy ducks (Cairina moschata) are easy to identify with their warty red head markings. They are larger than many other common ducks like mallards, with male Muscovies reaching up to 15 pounds.
Archaeologists have uncovered further evidence of a pre-colonial “garden city” in Bolivia where ancient Amazon people lived largely reliant on maize agriculture and raising muscovy ducks.
