Apple's latest MacBook Pro sports more ports and RAM for the same starting price. While the base model is short on RAM and ports, Apple's M3 MacBook is still a portable powerhouse.

The port selection on the MacBook Pro M4 is a little bit better than the M3. The base model now has three Thunderbolt 4 ports (compared to two last time), and you still get an SD Card slot, HDMI port and headphone jack. If you want more bandwidth with Thunderbolt 5, you’ll need to step up to a M4 Pro model, though.

The new M4 MacBook Pro makes it easier to pick the model you want by making the entry-level option better by adding more memory and a valued port.

Unlike the 14-inch model, there’s no base M4 option with the 16-inch MacBook Pro, making the M4 Pro-toting model the ‘entry level’ choice. It features a 14-core CPU with 10 performance cores four efficiency cores, and a 20-core GPU.

If you want the fully specced out model with nano-texture screen, M4 Max chip (16-core CPU, 40-core GPU), 128GB memory and 8TB SSD storage will cost you £7049 for the 14-inch or £7349 for the 16-inch model.
