Maine state Rep. Laurel Libby was censured by colleagues for a social media post calling out a transgender athlete completing in a state championship.

State Representative Laurel Libby, a Republican, had been banned from voting over comments opposing transgender athletes in girls’ sports.

Over dissents from two liberal justices, the U.S. Supreme Court said Maine's state legislature must restore voting powers to a state lawmaker censured for criticizing a trans high school athlete.
