Since the opening of its first theme park in the Summer of 1990 in Orlando, Florida, Universal Resorts has been competing against Disney World (DIS) , its biggest rival theme park, to win over theme park aficionados and become the top contender among all.

Universal Destinations & Experiences recently revealed several themed areas that will be featured at Universal Kids Resort, a new family-focused theme park set to open next year in Texas.

Visitors to the Universal Kids Resort under construction in Frisco will be able to stomp around in Shrek’s swamp, go boating with SpongeBob SquarePants, or take a cat nap with Puss in Boots.
