Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on loan before last month's transfer deadline, but the Chelsea outcast has been warned that he is unlikely to play a major role at his new club

The structure of this deal benefits the Gunners hugely. Sporting director Edu Gaspar got the better of Chelsea in negotiations for Sterling, and as such the North London club had to pay no loan fee in order to secure his services and they will also pay less than 50% of his wages.

The 82-cap England veteran faces stiff competition from young talents such as Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard. Although Sterling has made appearances against both Tottenham and Atalanta since his transfer, Lawrenson remains sceptical about his chances under Mikel Arteta.
