ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota State Supreme Court has ruled in favor of democrats in a quorum case. In a ruling Friday, the justices found that 68 members must be present to constitute a quorum in the House.

The Court said the Minnesota Constitution requires 68 members present to conduct business, one more than the GOP's 67 members holding sessions without the DFL.

The Supreme Court on Friday cancelled the special election for a metro House race later this month, finding Gov. Tim Walz set the date before state law requires.
