The place is beautiful and magnificent and how 2 hours will go you won’t even know .. there is an entry fee off 100 thb and to every one be careful of this area after 6 pm there is no public transpor… Full review by bhav28

Amazing temple with a great story. My advice is to go with a reputable guide so they can explain the history of the temple. Although the staff at the temple does a decent job of policing the crowds… Full review by MindyTiffany

Hello. We have a trip planned that involves being in Chiang Mai from 4/12/19 to 4/15 or 4/16 (during Songkran). We would like to make a day trip to Chiang Rai to see Wat Rong Khun, but haven't been able to find any info as to whether Songkran will make this difficult. Can anyone advise? Will it be more difficult to get to Chaing Rai during Songkran and are the temples visiting hours affected at all by Songkran? Thank you!

Hi unfortunately I am unable to answer this question however as Songkran usually falls on a Buddha day I would have thought the temples would be open although busy as Buddhist usually visit temples to give merit. Sorry I couldn’t give you a definitive answer.

To enter the temple you must have shoulders and knees covered. Although it is privately owned it is respected as a sacred place.
