A fun and easy hike. Not crowded, a lot more fun than the "official" ruins that you have to pay for. Apparently it's gorgeous at night. Entrance is hard to find.Full review by KittyStuff

Cusco is at a significantly higher altitude than Ollanta and Machu Picchu. Unless you're traveling from altitude or know you won't have any problems, you should consider staying at lower elevations toward the beginning of your trip (fly into Cusco and go directly to Ollanta, visit MP, then several days later, return to stay in Cusco).
