We have visited Bandelier twice in the past and still found the location beautiful and inspiring. The hiking trails are well maintained and if you like birding, there are plenty of species to spot he…Full review by MomRocco

This place is spectacular. Should be a National Park in my opinion. The cliffs are beautiful with interesting shapes and colors. Then you add in that a 1,000 people lived here long ago and their hist…Full review by RICHARD V

Fritz and Linda were gracious guides. The 360 degree views from high elevations on the Bandolier tour are different indeed from the Ghost Ranch tour but just as spectacular. For my sister and myself,…Full review by Jessica T

I've read a few reviews that say go early. Is this an absolute must? I can see where it might be since all Pueblos remain closed to visitors. We would be going on a Thursday afternoon. Mom will be accompanying, and while she is mobile, she's not one for hiking. Is this outing worth pursuing given these issues?

There will be less people on a weekday. Mom could do the easy hike to the first set of cliff dwellings, but would just have to wait and watch you as you climbed the ladders to actually see the small “caves” in the hillside. I would forget about doing the Alcove House/ long hike with Mom. If Mom is independent she could get coffee and a snack in the little cafe and read a book while the rest of you did those hikes- about 2.5 hours depending on how many people you must wait on to go up and down the various ladders.

Hi there- thinking of visiting in the next few weeks. We're not hikers though and are hoping to drive through and get out, take a walk or small hike. Is this possible and worth our time?
A:
More of a walk than a hike. Not too difficult. There is a short loop of about 1.5 miles that will allow you to see most everything and there is a shortcut if you wish. Wort the drive and walk to …
