Is the Sonic OVA worth watching? Where can I watch it?
WEBI love it, and I only watched it for the first time a decade or so ago so it’s not like there’s the childhood nostalgia aspect (well, there’s still the general Sonic nostalgia). I liked the interpretations of the characters and the art style, the setting was really really cool, and the story is pretty alright.

Considering the OVA/Pilot, this story cannot contain Metal Sonic as that would ruin his already well done (despite the cheesy English voice) death.

WEBMassive disagree - The OVA does have its flaws (like the Eggman and Sara wedding thing? Don't like that) but I'm always coming back to it! The backgrounds are so pretty and so is the music. There's the one scene right after the Tornado crashes, Sonic and Tails are traversing the landscape. My favourite bit, the music is a jam. Also Metal Sonic.

WEBDec 16, 2022 · It's never specified in the movie or anywhere else but it's a safe bet to assume she's around Sonic's age (like basically every other character save Tails and Eggman). In Japan age of consent is like 13. So US audience might find it odd or creepy while Japanese audience may not bat an eye at it. Really just cultural differences.

Aspects of the OVA are really weird (the setting, Land of the Sky/Land of Darkness, the President/Sara, etc.), but overall it's probably the most tone and character accurate adaptation of Sonic we've ever gotten. It has a lot of great visuals, and nearly every shot with Metal Sonic is beautiful.
